This is the farm complex that Lt. Ronald Spiers from D-Company 506th PIR was defending during the battle of Bloody Gulch outside of Carentan on the 13th of June 1944. The farm took heavy shelling from both artillery and Stug IV fire but the defending paratroopers held their ground.
